Speaking at a memorial ceremony at the University of Tehran’s Faculty of Psychology on Monday, Dehghani Firouzabadi described Kharrazi as an experienced, principled and non-partisan figure who placed national interests above party considerations.
He said Kharrazi combined commitment to revolutionary ideals with political realism, rationality and ethical conduct, while consistently defending Iran’s national independence. Kharrazi’s approach sought to secure dignity for the country through realistic, goal-oriented policies, he added.
Kharrazi also stressed the need for strategic foresight, Dehghani Firouzabadi said, arguing that policymakers should develop plans addressing national challenges not only for the present but also for future generations, even a century ahead.
The council secretary said Kharrazi’s diplomatic standing had enhanced Iran’s international credibility. He described the martyred diplomat as a supporter of evidence-based policymaking, saying foreign policy should rest on scientific foundations and produce strategies.
Dehghani Firouzabadi said preserving Iran’s security, independence and national strength was a collective duty. He added that Kharrazi’s intellectual and strategic legacy should be explained and passed on to younger generations.
