During the interview, Rezaei outlined the latest developments and explained the course of indirect negotiations with the US through mediators.

Regarding the letter from US Vice President JD Vance, he said: “I have read the letter from Vance, Trump’s deputy, and have not yet responded to it.”

Rezaei added: “Their tone has changed completely. This is a good sign, showing that the Iranian nation has consolidated its victory and strength. Since they have not disclosed anything about the letter, I will not say anything about it for now either.”

On the question of a possible change in Iran’s nuclear doctrine, the SNSC secretary said: “No new decision has been made regarding a change in our nuclear doctrine. However, the question has been raised: if war breaks out again, do we want to retain our previous doctrine or not?”

He added: “The Iranian nation, however, has its own demands. After all, people see that the enemy has targeted our nuclear facilities. They ask why they were attacked. We had agreed to all the inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and had even facilitated its inspectors’ access to carry them out. So when people see these things, it is only natural that they ask us why we want to allow this situation to continue.”

Foreign Powers Cannot Ensure the Region’s Security

Responding to a question about the four-party meeting in Tehran, Major General Mohsen Rezaei said that, following the Iranian nation’s victories in recent wars and the US defeat in those conflicts, everyone had reached the conclusion that foreign powers were incapable of ensuring the region’s security.

He said the question facing the entire region was what kind of regional order and security arrangements would govern its 25 countries. Given the emerging perception that the US was on its way out of the region, the question of who should fill the resulting vacuum had now come to the fore.

The SNSC secretary continued: “Rubio went to Italy and set in motion the process of replacing the US with Britain in the region. However, the Iranian people’s steadfast and courageous resistance has led to the conclusion that the region’s future arrangements must be determined by the countries themselves.”

He added that all four parties at the Tehran meeting had firmly declared their positions against the Zionist regime. It had also been agreed that the meetings would continue. “God willing, this meeting will mark the beginning of new arrangements in West Asia, with the countries of the region taking responsibility for their own security.”

Explaining Iran’s position at the meeting, Rezaei said: “We stressed unity and its benefits for regional security. We also emphasized the establishment of a new regional order with an endogenous character.”

The SNSC secretary noted: “If Iran has stood firm against 5,000 NATO flights, then four countries will certainly have greater strength. And, of course, no security in the region is possible without Iran.”

If Iran Is Harmed, the World Will Be Harmed

Referring to remarks by European leaders, including those of Germany and France, Rezaei said: “When the Zionist regime attacked Iran, the German chancellor expressed satisfaction, saying that Israel was doing the West’s dirty work. But now he, Macron and even Zelenskyy acknowledge that the economic crisis that has emerged in Europe and around the world is the result of the US war against Iran. Everyone now understands that if Iran is harmed, the world will be harmed.”

Rezaei said: “Today, wherever Trump goes, he has to answer for why he started a war against Iran. All of this is the result of the Iranian people’s steadfast resistance and courage. The world is now witnessing the Iranian people’s enormous capacity to make an impact. There is not a single family in the US that has not felt the pressure caused by the war with Iran. Its effects are evident throughout the world, and this is an unprecedented development.”

Strait of Hormuz Will Not Reopen Without Implementation of Iran’s Seven Conditions

Responding to a question about negotiations and recent diplomatic exchanges, Major General Rezaei said: “The recent diplomatic process began more than a month ago. The Americans are insisting on negotiations, but we have told them that we will not negotiate with them. We have made it clear that the Strait will not reopen and we will not negotiate until our conditions are met. We have said that we must see a change in US behavior, and compliance with our seven conditions could be one indication of such a change.”

He went on to report changes in the American side’s responses, saying: “In the latest round of negotiations, the other side’s responses were clearer than before, and there were signs of a willingness to accept Iran’s seven conditions. After Mr. Araghchi raised some ambiguities and received new responses, the talks entered a new phase.”

The SNSC secretary stressed: “We take diplomacy seriously, but under no circumstances will we back down from the rights of the Iranian nation. Our aim is not to be obstinate. We act on the basis of our national interests, national security and the future of the country.”

Referring to the need for the US to be held accountable for its aggression and the damage inflicted on Iran, Rezaei said: “If the US is not held accountable for these actions, the message sent to other countries will be that they can attack Iran without having to pay a price.”

Determined to End War So That No One Dares to Attack Iran Again

The representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the Supreme National Security Council stressed: “We are determined to end the war in such a way that no one will ever dare to attack Iran again. We will stand firm and resolutely secure the rights of the Iranian nation.”

Rezaei continued: “Some people ask whether we have anything that allows us to take such firm positions. I say yes, we do. If the US takes action, we will break its horns. If the enemy makes a foolish move, it will face devastating blows and a proud defense.”

On the seven conditions and how they differed from the Islamabad understanding, he said: “There were ambiguities in the Islamabad memorandum that had led to different interpretations, including over the management of the Strait of Hormuz and the collection of fees. These ambiguities have been resolved in the seven conditions.”

We Are Standing Firm to Secure the Rights of the Iranian Nation

Asked about the possibility of negotiations on nuclear issues, the SNSC secretary said: “We are a member of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and have 22 rights. If there are to be nuclear negotiations, we will demand our rights. Therefore, we are standing firm to secure the rights of the Iranian nation, while also taking the question of timing into consideration. We are now waiting for the Americans’ response. The Strait of Hormuz cannot reopen unless Iran’s seven conditions are met.”

Grossi Is a Mercenary and Servant of the Zionist Regime

Major General Mohsen Rezaei continued: “Grossi is a mercenary and servant of the Zionist regime. He is the only head of an agency who says that Iran’s nuclear programme has deviations, even though Iran’s nuclear facilities have undergone the largest number of inspections and the absence of any deviation in Iran’s nuclear programme has been proven.”

Islamic Republic of Iran Does Not Depend on Individuals

In another part of the interview, Major General Mohsen Rezaei said: “The recent war showed that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not depend on any one individual, and that there was not even a momentary disruption in the administration of the country. This demonstrates that, over the past 47 years, the institutions of the nation-state have become fully established in the country. Moreover, officials across all branches of government are now united and share the same position. There may be differences in expert opinions, but today there is the highest degree of unity behind the Leader of the Revolution. The dear people of Iran should not pay attention to attempts to create divisions or portray the country as having conflicting voices.”

Referring to his recent meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Rezaei said: “He is fully aware of the country’s affairs, even down to the smallest details, and is managing the country with authority and resolve. He offered valuable guidance on political, economic, military, social, cultural and livelihood-related issues.”

Stressing that national unity and cohesion are no less a source of strength than missiles, Major General Rezaei said: “We must also fight with strength on the economic and cultural fronts. Even now, beyond our borders, global public opinion towards Iran is undergoing positive changes.”
