Mohajerani made the remarks at her weekly press conference on Tuesday.

Referring to a meeting in Tehran involving Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, she described the four-way talks as a practical step toward regional security generated and maintained by countries in the region themselves, without outside interference.

Iran has consistently advocated this approach, Mohajerani said, adding that the meeting demonstrated how regional countries could work together to establish their own security arrangements.

She said the president had reiterated the position during the meeting late on Monday and would continue to emphasize it in his upcoming meetings in Moscow.

The government believes Iran should pursue peace with dignity, Mohajerani said, underscoring that any agreement must protect the country’s national interests.

She added that Iran remained determined to defend its territory. If even the slightest aggression against the country occurred, the Armed Forces would respond forcefully, she said.

Mohajerani stressed that Iran’s previous actions had demonstrated its resolve to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
