Araghchi made the remarks during a meeting with Poland’s Undersecretary of State of Foreign Affairs Wojciech Zajaczkowski in Tehran on Wednesday evening on the sidelines of the third round of political consultations between Iran and Poland.
The foreign minister criticized certain European countries for supporting or failing to respond to the military aggression against Iran, emphasizing that all countries, including European governments, should take a principled stance against the aggression and crimes committed during it.
Araghchi said Iran had consistently pursued diplomacy to promote regional peace and security but would not hesitate to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against threats and renewed aggression.
He said insecurity in the region and the Strait of Hormuz stemmed from aggressive actions by the United States and the Israeli regime.
The Iranian foreign minister highlighted the positive historical ties between the Iranian and Polish peoples and stressed the need to identify and develop existing opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields for mutual benefit. He also referred to his meeting with his Polish counterpart on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September.
Zajaczkowski briefed Araghchi on his talks with his Iranian counterpart and outlined Poland’s positions on regional and international developments.
