Public and private technology firms from both countries held specialized business-to-business meetings on the sidelines of the second Global Digital Forum in Moscow.

The event opened at the Mchta complex in Gorky Park, bringing together officials, diplomats and representatives of the two countries’ public and private sectors.

In a message read by Iran’s technology attaché, Ambassador Kazem Jalali stressed the importance of strategic cooperation and government support in expanding digital exchanges.

He said Iranian technology companies had extensive experience in localizing infrastructure equipment, while Russian firms could invest jointly with reliable Iranian partners and gain access to Iran’s information technology and artificial intelligence services market. The Iranian government supports such investment, he added.

A Russian deputy minister for digital development, communications and mass media described Iranian companies’ participation as an opportunity to exchange information and launch new partnerships. He highlighted the potential for broader engagement in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity and said Russia was ready to develop shared infrastructure and deepen cooperation with Iran.

Companies from both countries presented recent technological advances and practical proposals during the meetings, discussing technology transfer, joint investment, and expanding markets for products and services.

The forum followed an Iranian delegation’s visit to Russia in December 2025, which resulted in a 20-point intergovernmental memorandum of understanding and five contracts between companies from the two countries.
