Nournews: Rezaei also referred to the recent war, saying the United States had failed to achieve its objectives while Iran had stood firm against pressure. He added that Iran’s president would respond to the “foolish and delusional” U.S. president within the coming hours.
Major General Mohsen Rezaei, the Supreme Leader’s representative and secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, said in an interview with the IRIB News Network, reacting to Trump’s claims and the war against Iran:
“First of all, we will respond to the foolish remarks of the U.S. president. Trump has made delusional statements. In my view, one of Trump’s historic mistakes was this UN General Assembly speech, because he appeared before the world as a defeated criminal, presenting a defense of himself.”
Iran has become Trump’s biggest problem
Rezaei said:
“In my view, one of Trump’s historic mistakes was this UN General Assembly speech, because he appeared before the world as a defeated criminal, presenting a defense of himself.”
The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council continued:
“This is the first U.S. president whose entire speech revolves around Iran. This shows that Iran has become Trump’s biggest problem. Iran has become the biggest problem for U.S. policy. This could not have happened without Iran’s strength.”
Trump wants to claim he was not defeated
Rezaei said Trump’s entire speech amounted to the defense of a defeated criminal who was merely trying to justify himself.
“The entire text of his speech was the defense of a defeated criminal who is only trying to defend himself. He wants to influence world public opinion,” Rezaei said.
“Trump wants to say that he was not defeated. He talks about his crimes, but he did not achieve any of his objectives.”
Referring to Iran’s defensive capabilities, Rezaei said:
“Today, the Islamic Republic remains powerful. They said they would send Iran back to the Stone Age, but Iran is standing strong.”
Trump and Netanyahu have created the world’s most severe form of terrorism
Referring to what he described as the actions of the U.S. “terrorist regime,” the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council said:
“Since the Islamic Revolution, we have never attacked anyone; we have defended ourselves. As for terrorism, Trump and Netanyahu have created the most severe form of terrorism in the world. They have killed 25,000 children around the world. Are they the terrorists, or are we, whose children were killed at school?”
He added:
“Trump himself has realized that he is the criminal and the main defendant, and he knows he will not escape unscathed. Eventually, they will hold him accountable.”
Iran remains powerful
Referring to Iran’s military capabilities, Rezaei said:
“Who was the first to shoot down an F-35? Who grounded U.S. AWACS aircraft, and who has brought America to a standstill? Our list of victories is extensive.”
Rezaei also said:
“Iran was the first country to shoot down an F-35 and a U.S. AWACS aircraft. No one looks at America as a superpower anymore.”
Signs of electoral defeat can be seen in Trump’s remarks
Regarding the behavior of U.S. media outlets, their failure to cover his remarks and the domestic situation in the United States, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council said:
“We can see signs of electoral defeat in Trump’s remarks. The reason is clear. He has done such damage to America that he has not only lost popularity himself, but has also undermined the credibility of the party that supports him.”
“Look at the situation with gasoline in the United States, strategic reserves and missiles. They are constantly concealing the number of their casualties. Even U.S. media outlets are asking why they are hiding the casualty figures.”
He added:
“U.S. media outlets have realized that there have been so many defeats that they are afraid their audiences will turn away if they broadcast Trump’s remarks.”
Iran was the victor in the war
Asked why he believed Iran had won the war, Rezaei said:
“The majority of experts around the world say that Iran was the victor in this conflict. The world did not think Iran would be able to target America’s most advanced aircraft.”
“They had facilities in Bahrain, and [their forces] moved to Diego Garcia. They suffered serious and substantial damage. For the first time, we were able to detonate one of our missiles above the USS George Washington.”
He added:
“We were able to seize an expensive U.S. submarine as a trophy. Our allies are conducting reverse engineering, and we are discovering the full extent of its advanced technology.”
Iran today is not the Iran that existed before the war
Regarding Iran’s position, Rezaei said:
“We are at the peak today. Iran today is not the Iran that existed before the war. No one looks at Iran today the way they did before the war.”
“We did not commit any of Trump’s illegal violations. In terms of power and military advancement, we hold a strong position in the world and the region.”
Our conditions are completely different from the past
Regarding negotiations and Iran’s position, Rezaei said:
“Not only has there been no change in our position, but our new diplomacy is working with strength. We are not returning to the past.”
“How is it different? We are going to make the United States earn the trust of the Iranian people, and they must act first. If the United States does not first fulfill our conditions, the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened, and we will not negotiate.”
He added:
“Our conditions are completely different from the past. Sometimes we may announce some of the conditions, but Iran has seven conditions. Pakistanis, Qataris and Iraqis asked us what our conditions were. They said the Americans had asked them, so we put our conditions in writing. Today, Iran’s conditions are in the hands of Pakistan and Qatar.”
We decided to communicate our conditions to the United States
The Supreme National Security Council secretary continued:
“In a meeting with Mr. Pezeshkian and [Foreign Minister] Araghchi, it was decided that we would communicate our conditions to the United States. There is no new discussion or new condition; it is about communicating our existing conditions.”
“As long as our conditions are not met, the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened and we will not negotiate. The reason we have entered this phase is clear: the Americans cannot be trusted. We are pursuing a new diplomacy.”
