Mehdi Bakhshi said on Thursday that the suspects had been involved in security-related activities, including arson attacks on buildings and organized propaganda campaigns aimed at advancing the objectives of counter-Islamic Revolution groups.
He said the arrests followed efforts to identify and deal with those involved in such activities.
Bakhshi stressed that any actions undermining public security would be met with a legal response, adding that judicial proceedings were continuing to determine the full scope of the organized operations, establish the role and degree of involvement of each suspect, and verify any possible connections.
