According to the Public Relations Office of the Iranian Army Navy, an oil tanker caught fire and was disabled after hitting a naval mine east of the Strait of Hormuz. while sailing in a restricted area with its navigation systems switched off, despite repeated warnings.
The Iranian Army Navy warned that any vessel ignoring warnings and entering restricted waters could meet the same fate.
