Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Araghchi reiterated that the positive outcome in the Doha consultations depends on how the US side responds to Iran's questions.
He further noted that the visit by the Iranian delegation, including one of his aides, to Doha was aimed at continuing discussions with mediators on the Hormuz reopening proposal, clarifying that there was no plan to meet or negotiate with the American side during this trip.
Stating that Tehran is making every effort to resolve issues diplomatically and peacefully, the top Iranian diplomat expressed hope that the other side would exercise rationality and choose diplomacy over other paths, a reference to repeated US threats.
Araghchi, once again, emphasized that Iran is ready for all scenarios, saying the recent directives issued by Commander-in-Chief Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei to senior military commanders, for a swift and intense response to the enemy without geographical limits, clearly demonstrate the resolve of Iran and the Iranian nation.
The Iranian Armed Forces have been assigned very specific missions and, drawing on the lessons of two past wars, are now significantly stronger than before, the foreign minister said, underscoring that Iran remains prepared for both defense and diplomacy simultaneously.
