The agreement was signed late on Friday on the sidelines of an auto exhibition in Behshahr, northern Iran, in the presence of provincial free zone officials and municipal representatives.

Behshahr Mayor, Yaser Ahmadi, said that the agreement aims to facilitate trade between Iranian and foreign companies, particularly those from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and help promote employment and production across the province.

Mohammad Rahmani, deputy for civil affairs and infrastructure at the Mazandaran Free Zone, described the Behshahr Trade House as a strategic model for linking trade with urban management.

The official noted that the initiative could help expand economic ties with CIS member states and the four countries bordering the Caspian Sea.

Amirabad Port, connected to Iran’s railway network and the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), has an annual handling capacity of 10 million tons and strong potential to expand trade with Caspian littoral states, he added.
