Mehdi Younesi Rostami made the remarks during a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Iran Nasriev Fariddin on Tuesday, highlighting the province’s agricultural and industrial potential.

The governor identified agricultural products, dairy, poultry and fisheries as key export capacities of Mazandaran, noting that agreements had already been signed for poultry exports. Kiwi exports also offer further opportunities to boost bilateral trade, he added

Younesi Rostami stressed the need to diversify exports, increase trade volumes and create more opportunities for private-sector participation. He also highlighted cooperation in modern agricultural technologies and technical knowledge transfer.

Referring to existing ties between Mazandaran and Uzbekistan’s eastern region of Fergana, the governor called for continued exchanges of business delegations and invited a high-ranking Uzbek trade delegation to visit Mazandaran Province to explore joint projects.

He also emphasized the importance of improving transport infrastructure and expanding direct flight connections to facilitate travel by businesspeople from both sides.
