On Friday, Russian media outlets reported on a diplomatic exchange, sharing a photo and a post from Araghchi’s Telegram channel that showed the three top diplomats discussing matters on the sidelines of the summit.
Earlier today, the summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) opened with a group photo featuring the participating leaders, including the presidents of Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the prime minister of Armenia.
The summit’s agenda includes 15 items. The leaders are expected to adopt a joint statement assessing the CIS’s achievements over the past 35 years and outlining its prospects.
Other key topics include cooperation in combating cybercrime, enhancing the CIS’s international image, social development, improving quality of life, and strengthening transport connectivity.
