Writing on his X account, Paknejad said he remained a soldier of the homeland and one of the millions willing to sacrifice for Iran.

He added that although he was sanctioned by Iran’s number one enemy only months after taking office, oil production and exports continued even under sanctions and blockade, despite pressure on Iran, thanks to oil industry workers.

Paknejad said Iran’s adversaries had suffered a serious blow and were therefore resorting to false claims.

President Pezeshkian accepted Paknejad’s resignation on October 4 and appointed Hamid Bovard as caretaker oil minister.
