The IRGC said in a statement on Saturday afternoon that the 85th wave of True Promise 4 Operation was conducted with the codename Ya Rasuloallah and was to pay tribute to the martyrdom of the people and personnel who worked for the country’s industries.
“Several heavy industries belonging to the aggressor American Zionist enemy in the occupied territories and elsewhere were subjected to missile and drone attacks, and parts of them were destroyed,” the statement said.
“During this extensive missile and drone operation, the enemy air force attempted to target our launch pads by sending fighter jets and drones, but the IRGC's air defenses shot down an American MQ9 strategic unmanned aircraft in the sky of Shiraz, and an American F-16 fighter jet was hit in the south of Fars province and destroyed before landing at an airport in Saudi Arabia. The US Central Command admitted in a statement that the fighter jet was hit and completely damaged, the statement added.
“We had warned the reckless US rulers that we would retaliate for attacking industrial targets. This attack was just a warning; if the attack on industries is repeated, our next response will be beyond your expectations,” it concluded.
