Tehran and Baku ink document on military-defense cooperation

Iran and Azerbaijan have signed a document to expand and deepen military and defense cooperation between the two countries.

NOURNEWS- Iran and Azerbaijan have signed a document to expand and deepen military and defense cooperation between the two countries.

A delegation from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran met with officials from the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku, during which the two sides signed the final document of the third Joint Military and Defense Cooperation Commission.

Heading a high-ranking military delegation, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for International Cooperation Brigadier General Mohammad Ahadi traveled to Baku to attend Iran-Azerbaijan third Joint Military and Defense Cooperation Commission.

During the visit, he met with some of senior Azerbaijani military and civilian officials, including Defense Minister General Zakir Hasanov, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev, and Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.

Expanding and deepening bilateral relations, especially in the defense and military sector, as well as regional and international issues and other matters of mutual interest were among the discussions.
