Hamid Ghanbari, deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy, announced the measures following the 12th meeting of the Economic Relations Coordination Headquarters, which focused on trade diplomacy and non-oil exports.
The meeting was held at the Foreign Ministry on Saturday, with the participation of economic deputies from executive bodies to discuss exporters’ problems and pursue solutions.
It focused on identifying practical solutions to export-related challenges and coordinating follow-up efforts among relevant government bodies and Iran’s diplomatic missions abroad.
Ghanbari said the conditions created by the US-Israeli war of aggression on the country presented new challenges for exporters, making changes to domestic mechanisms necessary to address their difficulties and obligations.
He explained that some exporters have been unable to fulfill their commitments because of transportation disruptions, while others have received foreign currency to import raw materials but could not complete those imports due to problems along transportation and logistics routes.
Measures have therefore been devised to reconsider existing procedures and regulations for these exporters, he said, adding that the proposed arrangements have received the approval of relevant government agencies.
He added that proposals have also been raised to resolve problems facing exporters of goods to neighboring countries, including Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
Ghanbari said the proposals could be pursued through negotiations with foreign counterparts and would be referred to Iran’s embassies and consulates for follow-up.
He expressed hope that despite the difficulties created by the enemy, these endeavors would help not only preserve existing exports but also make them more targeted and improve their overall level in the future.
