President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to address the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Wednesday.

Pezeshkian arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport early Wednesday, where he was received by Iran’s ambassador and chargé d’affaires to the United Nations.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the Foreign Ministry delegation had arrived in New York on Monday. Araghchi has since held bilateral meetings with his counterparts and international officials.

During his trip, Pezeshkian is scheduled to present the Islamic Republic of Iran’s positions at the UN General Assembly and hold meetings with several heads of state attending the session.

He will also participate in separate meetings with Iranian academics and residents in the United States, as well as US intellectuals and think tanks.

The 81st UN General Assembly is being held in New York from September 22 to 28.
