Regarding the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei at the hands of the most wretched of the wretched of our time, Salama Abdel-Qawi wrote:
"Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with God." (Holy Qur'an)
He continued: "A man like (Imam) Khamenei deserves nothing but martyrdom. A man who had reached the threshold of ninety ended his life in struggle for Al-Aqsa Mosque; he sincerely sought martyrdom and attained it."
The Egyptian scholar emphasized: "Should he have died like some of our rulers, who will die as camels die?"
