The so-called Core Group countries issued a joint statement in the IAEA Board of Governors on Thursday, condemning the resolution proposed by three European countries, the UK, France and Germany, against Iran's peaceful nuclear program, and as an example of the abuse of the decision-making process in the International Atomic Energy Agency and emphasized the need to support the continuation of an interactive approach with Iran to resolve the remaining safeguards issues.
In this statement, a copy of which was seen by the IRNA correspondent, it is stated, "We have taken into consideration Iran's long-standing commitment to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons as a member of the NPT and the continuation of interaction between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency. We welcome all issues related to the implementation of the NPT agreement, including the remaining issues."
