The Friday meeting provided an opportunity for President Pezeshkian to hear directly from Iranian Americans, who raised their concerns, views, and issues of interest. The president responded to their questions and comments in a patient and receptive manner.
Before the meeting, President Pezeshkian had held sessions with American media editors, managers, and journalists, as well as experts and specialists from US think tanks.
He also gave interviews to US TV networks Fox News and CBS, along with Qatar’s Al Jazeera, outlining the Islamic Republic of Iran’s positions on regional and international issues.
On Wednesday, President Pezeshkian addressed the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, where he firmly responded to US President Donald Trump’s rhetoric and threats. His speech, defending the rights and grievances of the Iranian people, drew widespread praise.
On the sidelines of the UN gathering, President Pezeshkian also held bilateral meetings with several heads of state and officials, as well as UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The talks covered bilateral relations, regional developments, and international issues.
