Although Enrique Mora, on behalf of the European Union, is in charge of coordinating the talks and conveying the views of the Iranian and American sides, last night, only talks took place between him and Ali Bagheri, the chief negotiator of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Tehran has previously stated that no direct talks will be held with the United States and Enrique Mora would pass messages to each side.
While the remaining issues are not numerically significant, due to their direct impact on the formation of a strong, stable and reliable agreement, they have slowed down the process of reaching an agreement.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said yesterday, without mentioning the issues on the agenda of the talks: "The red lines drawn in the negotiations at the level of policy-making and decision-making in Iran are based on the maximum provision of national interests, and this is an issue that will be judged by future generations."
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will not cross its red lines in any way," he continued.
Iranian Foreign Minister also added: "If the United States has serious intentions, an agreement is available in this round of talks."
At the end of the first day of negotiations, it is not yet possible to determine the outlook for the "timeline" of the talks.
