NOURNEWS – Iran and Syria underlined the need for implementing all the agreements made during the course of Astana talks on Syria, including those calling for the protecting the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The Iranian delegation to the 18th round of Astana talks, that were headed by Ali-Asghar Khaji, a senior aide to Iranian foreign minister, met and conferred with the Syrian delegation to the talks on Wednesday.
The two delegations discussed the latest developments underway in Syria.
Speaking during the meeting, the head of the Iranian delegation stressed that the guarantors of Astana talks have to be determined enough to find a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis.
He expressed concern over the continuation of the Zionist attacks which inflicts serious damages to Syrian infrastructure.
The head of the Syrian delegation, for his part, hailed the shared views of Iran and Russia on the Syrian crisis and welcomed any bilateral cooperation in this regard.
He complained about the approach of the Western governments to the agreements and resolutions, particularly the Resolution 2585, and urged the need for not politicizing the humanitarian aids to the Syrian people.
