Following the meetings of the Fourth Regional Security Dialogue in Tajikistan, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council met with the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran to discuss the latest developments in the region and bilateral issues.

NOURNEWS - Following the meetings of Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of our country, who has traveled to Tajikistan to participate in the fourth meeting of the Regional Security Dialogue; Nasrullah Mahmudzadeh, Secretary of the National Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, met with him to discuss the latest developments in the region and bilateral issues.

In this meeting, Admiral Shamkhani referred to the crises in the region that are due to the evil interventions of the United States and the Zionist regime; He considered the development of regional cooperation as the best way out of the existing crises.

Shamkhani expressed satisfaction with the meeting with his Tajik counterpart and the forthcoming visit of the President of Tajikistan to Tehran, noting the high-level consultations between the two countries for the comprehensive expansion of effective and efficient relations.

Referring to the will of the leaders of the two countries to develop Tehran-Dushanbe relations, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council stated: "Obstacles to the improvement of relations between us should be removed through exchange of views and joint efforts."

Referring to Iran's transit advantages and port facilities in Chabahar, Shamkhani announced our country's readiness to connect to the southern waters of the Persian Gulf.

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of our country emphasized on cooperation in Afghanistan and also accelerating the implementation of agreements between the two countries.

Nasrullah Mahmudzadeh, Secretary of the National Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, also referred to the commonalities of civilization and the deep cultural and linguistic roots of the two countries:

The leaders of the two countries, with a strong will to take a new chapter in bilateral relations, have taken strong steps that have redoubled our responsibility to accelerate relations.

He said: "The visit of General Bagheri, Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces to Tajikistan, created a new chapter in the defense relations between the two countries and we are ready to implement the agreements reached quickly."

Referring to the instability in Afghanistan, Mahmoudzadeh said that one of Tajikistan's concerns is the establishment of security along its border with the country, adding: "Unfortunately, terrorist groups are very active in Afghanistan and the Afghan government is not sensitive about their insecure activities."
