– Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi, the head of Iran’s Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, has said that Iranian and Afghan nations stand by each other despite plots hatched by enemies.
Qazizadeh Hashemi made the comment on Saturday night at a ceremony honoring Afghans who were martyred during anti-terror fight in the region.
He said that the ceremony sends the message that the Iranian and Afghan nations are inseparable and “this unity is the result of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.”
The event was held five days after a group of Afghan protesters attacked Iran’s Embassy in Kabul and its consulate general in Herat.
Two days later, Afghans gathered in their hundreds outside the embassy to condemn the assault and voice support for unity between the two countries.
Iran has also warned against “ill-wishers’ conspiracies” aimed at tarnishing bonds between the two nations.
