NOURNEWS - The Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran returned to Tehran on Thursday from a two-day trip to Delhi to attend and speak at the third regional security dialogue meeting.
During this visit, Admiral Ali Shamkhani, in addition to addressing the main meeting, which focused on the political-security developments in Afghanistan and the need to expand regional cooperation to resolve existing crises, also had bilateral meetings with his counterparts.
Regarding this meeting and the achievements of Ali Shamkhani's trip, the following points are important:
First; The third regional security meeting hosted by India and attended by secretaries and national security advisers of 8 countries, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was held in Delhi, was formed in October 2018 at the initiative of the Islamic Republic Iran and showed that regional initiatives can be relied on to resolve and manage regional crises.
Second; The issue of regional convergence and cooperation as a strategic principle to cut off foreign influence and resolve security issues was best displayed at the meeting, and the participants concluded with serious determination on the issue of Afghanistan and resolving the existing crises in this country as soon as possible.
Third; The bilateral meetings and consultations that took place on the sidelines of the meeting between the Iranian delegation and officials and delegations of some countries present, especially India and Russia, showed that given the weight of these three countries, beyond Western divisive actions, regional powers can work together. Use their capacities based on existing needs and take control of developments.
Fourth; The effective presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this meeting and the decisive role in leading its agenda on the issue of Afghanistan showed that the role and influence of our country is constantly improving, despite the US efforts to isolate Iran in the region and in the international arena.
According to this; It can be assessed that Tehran's goals in establishing this meeting, especially on issues such as "achieving an effective mechanism to resolve the crisis in Afghanistan and reduce the suffering of the Afghan people", "establishing the principle of convergence in the field of regional security", "creating the right environment for The level of "bilateral cooperation" and "stabilization of the principle of denial of any interference of trans-regional forces" has been met.
It seams; According to what was stated at the Delhi summit, the circle of lasting cooperation between the regional powers has become stronger and in the conditions of the US withdrawal from the region, the indigenous initiatives are growing and becoming more and more effective.
