The third step of the regional security dialogue in India

The failure of US policy in Afghanistan and the withdrawal of Washington troops from this country mark the beginning of a new round of formulation of key regional security players that has increased the need for cooperation and collaboration in this area.

NOURNEWS - The third meeting of the Regional Security Dialogue will be held in Delhi on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, with the participation of secretaries and national security advisers from Iran, Russia, China, India, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Admiral Ali Shamkhani, representative of the Supreme Leader and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will participate in this meeting on behalf of our country.

The summit was initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran and its first meeting to combat terrorism and extremism in the West Asian region focusing on "terrorism in Afghanistan" was held in Tehran in October 2018 with the participation of secretaries and national security advisers from Iran, China, Russia, India and Afghanistan.

One of the achievements of the first regional meeting was the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral security relations between the countries of the region for security and stability in Afghanistan and the strengthening of security mechanisms of other important regional organizations such as Shanghai to advance and conclude this meeting.

The second meeting was held in Tehran and Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were added to the list of member states, considering the formation of a triangle of terrorist groups in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan and the role of some Arab countries and the United States in strengthening this triangle. Iran had played a regional role in the collapse of this network, and the members agreed on ways to stabilize Afghanistan.

The meeting takes its third step at a time when US-backed terrorist movements and their insecure actions in the region, led by Washington and its allies, continue to threaten regional stability and security.

The focus of the regional security talks is on the latest political-security developments in Afghanistan, which, given the specific circumstances of the region and the overt and covert goals of the West in continuously spreading insecurity to other parts, have been considered by members to set a comprehensive mechanism.

Since the beginning of the recent developments in Afghanistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran has emphasized the three strategies of "inter-Afghan dialogue", "the need to stop the intervention of trans-regional forces" and "convergence of countries in the region."

Increasing continuous consultation and dialogue between the countries of the region is the main way to identify various threats and counter the destructive influence and role-playing of trans-regional countries in the developments in the region.

The failure of US policy in Afghanistan and the withdrawal of Washington troops from the country mark the beginning of a new round of formulation of key regional security players that has increased the need for cooperation and collaboration in this area.

Admiral Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the founder of this initiative, during the third meeting, while explaining Tehran's views on regional developments, will review joint solutions in interaction with senior security officials of Afghanistan and Russia to face new conditions in this country.
