NOURNEWS - Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi in a meeting with Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Admiral Ali Shamkhani said that the US should give up its habit of raising excessive demands to help revive the nuclear deal.
“The US should stop excessive demands to restore the nuclear deal,” Motegi said during the meeting in Tehran on Sunday.
He also underlined his country’s enthusiasm for the further enhancement of ties with Iran, and expressed the hope that this would happen during President Raisi’s era.
Motegi, meantime, called for the further expansion of cooperation between Tehran and Tokyo in the fight against COVID-19 and exchanging experiences in this regard.
Admiral Shamkhani, for his part, stressed the necessity for the qualitative development of bilateral relations without interference and influence of any third party.
He described security of international waterways as one of the main strategies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the presence of foreign forces in the Persian Gulf as an element disturbing the establishment of stability and lasting security in the region.
Admiral Shamkhani considered the inclusion of the fake Zionist regime in the CENTCOM mechanism a serious move in conjunction with the US continued policy of damaging security in the region, and warned of its extremely dangerous consequences for regional and global security and stability.
He also said that the US breach of its undertakings and irresponsible withdrawal from the nuclear deal and cited the Biden administration's continuation of Trump's policies is the main cause of the current situation, and said, "The way out of the US-created impasse is to secure the rights of the Iranian people.”
