Israeli TV Channel 11 has claimed that an employee of the Israeli Foreign Ministry has been arrested on charges of secret travel to Iran and espionage.
The Times of Israel referred to the detainee as a student employed by the Israeli Foreign Ministry and claimed that he was about 20 years old and had been in contact with Iranian intelligence agents during the trip.
According to the report, the Israeli Internal Security Agency (Shin Bet) is currently investigating the trip and other charges against him.
The Times of Israel says that, according to the information received, this person traveled to Iran before being admitted to the Israeli Foreign Ministry College.
The lawyer of this person said that his trip to Iran was a tourist trip, and this trip was not secret, and his friends and family were aware of it.
According to the Times of Israel, traveling to Iran is prohibited for citizens of occupied Palestine for any reason and for any purpose.
