NOURNEWS - Sayed Reza Sadr al-Husseini, an expert on regional issues and director of the Afghanistan Studies Group at the International Assembly of Muslim University Professors, told IQNA about recent developments in Afghanistan and various analyses of the Taliban's rapid advancement goals. One of the most accurate predictions that can be made about the future of the Taliban and Afghanistan is that the Taliban are seeking a new government in Afghanistan.
He added: "In fact, the return of the Taliban to the socio-political arena of Afghanistan is due to the inefficiency of the American presence in the political and security arenas and the lack of necessary support for the pro-US government in Afghanistan." One of the main reasons why the Afghan people are embroiled in a multi-layered unrest and the central government is not capable of controlling the political and security situation in Afghanistan is the 20-year US presence in the country and their irresponsible departure from Afghanistan.
Sadr al-Husseini said: "If the United States wanted to leave Afghanistan responsibly, it could have turned the situation in Afghanistan into a way for people to have the desired security, comfort and stability by forming a strong security and military complex with the support of the people." Therefore, the main culprit of the adverse phenomena that have arisen in the last twenty years in Afghanistan; سuch as the rise of narcotics, security unrest, the formation of terrorist groups and movements, the rise of terrorist acts, and the inefficiency of the central government. Even today, as the United States irresponsibly transforms its presence in Afghanistan from small to big, it is to blame for the Taliban's rapid advance.
America; The main cause of the current situation in Afghanistan
The Afghan expert said: "At the moment, American troops are not leaving Afghanistan, but are showing irresponsibility. In fact, the Americans are withdrawing their support forces to the periphery and strengthening their air force in Afghanistan. Accordingly, the main responsibility for the current and future situation in Afghanistan in the three periods of American invasion, presence and departure is the United States government.
Sadr al-Husseini said there is no doubt that the Taliban and the Americans are interested in increasing the security costs of Iran, China and Russia in Doha in recent developments in Afghanistan and the Americans' plan to use the Taliban as a tool to threaten the security of Iran, China and Russia. There is also no doubt that the Taliban is taking measures to undermine Afghanistan’s central government with the green light, but there is doubt that the U.S. can achieve all its goals in Afghanistan through the Taliban.
Is the Taliban acting as a US tool in the region?
He added:"In fact, the Taliban cannot be considered a full-fledged and fully aligned force to advance US goals in Afghanistan, but the US seeks to create statelessness, disorder, chaos, anarchy, the development of terrorism and"Libyanization"in Afghanistan. The current situation may help the Taliban achieve such goals in the United States, but if the Taliban can operate and manage inclusive sovereignty in Afghanistan with the presence of all entrenched currents, the Americans will not be able to achieve this main goal in Afghanistan.
Regarding some news about the presence of ISIS forces among the Taliban field forces and the difference between the political branch of the Taliban and its military branch, Sadr al-Husseini said: "If someone knows the thoughts and ideas of the Taliban and ISIS well, they will never talk about cooperation between the Taliban and ISIS." The Taliban are fundamentally opposed to many of ISIS's thoughts and behaviors. ISIS is a Takfiri Wahhabi Salafist, while the Taliban have a Sufi view based on Deobandi ideology. Therefore, it cannot be said that ISIS is present among the Taliban. Incidentally, a significant part of the ISIS captured in Afghanistan was carried out by the Taliban, and one of the main reasons for the failure of ISIS in Afghanistan was due to the presence of the Taliban.
He added: "Regarding the difference between the field branch of the Taliban and its political branch, which is negotiating with different countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, it should be said that these two branches are the same and are not different from each other." In other words, there is no insecurity on the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran with Afghanistan, 90% of which is controlled by the Taliban, and this shows that a large part of the Taliban's field operations is in line with what they agreed with the Islamic Republic. Therefore, one should not be influenced by the media atmosphere regarding the current performance of the Taliban, and at the same time there can be no guarantee that the nature of the Taliban has changed from before.
The importance of holding a conference in Tehran on the future of Afghanistan
The expert on Afghanistan said: "In fact, the Taliban have already complied with all security and economic considerations of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and so far no problems have been created for the movement of customs and official crossings between Iran and Afghanistan." Therefore, judging the current situation of the Taliban should be very cautious.
On the approach that Iran and Afghanistan's neighbors should take to the Taliban, Sadr al-Husseini said: "Given the instability and gloominess of Afghanistan's future, it seems that all of Afghanistan's important neighbors are particularly sensitive to the future of the country and its government. Holding expert meetings and management meetings, the task of the future government should be determined as soon as possible in order to form a government based on an inclusive government with the participation of all the deep-rooted ethnic groups and religions of Afghanistan.
He called the Tehran conference the beginning of an important step in this regard and said:"In this conference, for the first time, the Taliban came to negotiate with representatives of the government and influential currents in Afghanistan around a table, and this was a great thing to do with jihadi diplomacy in the Islamic Republic." Iran was done, and it seems that the initial and preliminary agreements in this meeting can be considered as a basis for future meetings and finalizing the status of Afghanistan's future sovereignty.
