NOURNEWS - Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, stated in this letter sent to the President of the Security Council: Several times in the past, including in his letters to the President of the Security Council, I have explicitly stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has not been directly or indirectly involved in any armed attack by any entity or individual against US personnel or facilities in Iraq.
He added: "Therefore, any attempt to implicitly or implicitly attribute such an accusation to Iran is inaccurate and lacks even the most obvious reliable information to prove it, and it is completely baseless, and therefore, we categorically reject such claims. We consider them legally invalid and devoid of any effect.
Ravanchi stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly rejects the US arbitrary interpretation of Article 51 of the UN Charter to justify its illegal military attack on Syria and Iraq on July 26, 1400, and strongly condemns these illegal actions, which violate the sovereignty of the two countries in the region.
The senior diplomat of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations added:"The US argument that such attacks were carried out to stop Iran and the so-called Iranian-backed militant groups from carrying out more attacks on US personnel or facilities in Iraq has no real or legal basis, because it is based solely on an arbitrary interpretation of Article 51 of the UN Charter, the US attacks are a clear violation of international law, in particular Article 2 of the UN Charter."
Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations has stressed that the recent US attempt to accuse others in the region of covering up irresponsible and destabilizing activities or distracting from its illegal and adventurous military actions in the region is doomed to failure.
In a letter to the UN Security Council, the US envoy reiterated his claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran after President Joe Biden ordered an attack on resistance forces on the Syrian-Iraqi border.
