NOURNEWS - Ahmad al-Maksousi, commander of the 14th Iraqi Hashd al-Shaabi Brigade, that headquarters were targeted in a US-led offensive in western Anbar province yesterday morning, has called for the Iraqi government to send a committee to the targeted bases.
According to the Al-Maluma Telegram Channel, he said the government had sent a committee to investigate and visit the US attack on the western Anbar province.
The targeted Hashd al-Shaabi forces were stationed inside the Iraqi border, 13 kilometers from the border with Syria. These forces had no arsenal of weapons or clashes with foreign forces.
Al-Maksousi explained that the attack was carried out by US forces with a bomb weighing one ton and 250 kilograms with several drones and fighters, and targeted more than one base.
The Hashd al-Shaabi commander called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to condemn the US crime, which Washington has confessed to.
"At 2:00 a.m. Monday, June 28, US planes flew to three locations of the Hashd al-Shaabi (Brigades 14 and 46), located 13 kilometers inside the Iraqi border in the city," the Iraqi Hashd al-Shaabi organization said in a statement, and mentioned that Al-Qaim, located in the west of the Anbar province, was targeted."
According to the statement, "The rape resulted in the martyrdom of four people who were carrying out their normal duty of preventing the infiltration of ISIS elements from Syria into Iraq.
These forces were operating under the command of the Iraqi Joint Operations and were not involved in any activities against the presence of foreign forces in Iraq. As the Hashd al-Shaabi organization has repeatedly emphasized."
According to sources in Iraq and Syria, unidentified planes carried out airstrikes on positions in the Bokmal area on the Syrian-Iraqi border, and minutes later it became clear that the attack was on a support and logistics base of the 14th Iraqi Hashd al-Shaabi Brigade.
Minutes later, the Pentagon issued a statement acknowledging responsibility for the attack, mentioned that on Sunday night, Washington's fighters carried out precision strikes on areas in Bokmal on the Syrian-Iraqi border at the behest of President Joe Biden.
