NOURNEWS - Yemen, which has been the scene of atrocities by the Arab-American coalition and the resistance of its great nation over the past six years, has seen significant changes in recent weeks.
Last week, EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell warned that the war in Yemen had become a source of instability in the region, and the media reported on the European Parliament's plan to establish a ceasefire in Yemen.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden, who during his vice presidency, the green light was given to invade Yemen, criticized the humanitarian situation in Yemen and claimed that his administration was trying to stop the war in the country and called on his special team for West Asia, to act on a ceasefire in Yemen.
On the other hand; At the same time as the United States announced that it was suspending intelligence cooperation with Saudi Arabia on Yemen, Martin Griffiths, the UN special envoy for Yemen, visited Iran for the first time on Sunday (February 7th) to meet with Tehran officials to discuss the situation in war-torn Yemen.
With these explanations; Is the West really seeking to resolve the Yemeni crisis by taking such an approach?
A look at the developments and challenges facing Yemen shows that in addition to stopping the Saudi attacks, the most important priority in this regard is to end the air, land and sea blockade to relocate the people, as the United Nations has officially announced, 20 million Yemenis under Arab-Americans coalition siege need food and medical aid.
The important point, however, is that in the positions of the Western countries, not only is there no mention in these cases, but France and Britain have officially emphasized the continuation of arms sales to Saudi Arabia. Accordingly, the recent positions of these countries can be sought in goals and reasons beyond aid to Yemen.
First; Evidence suggests that Saudi Arabia has failed in Yemen, so the West is seeking to help Riyadh escape the Yemeni swamp with dignity, disguising Saudi crimes and freeing them from punishment, as well as covering up the Zionist and UAE movements to dominate strategic areas in Yemen, including the island of Socotra.
Second; With the awakening of public opinion, the West is facing a global scandal in the face of the Yemeni crisis, so recent political approaches can be seen as a way to reduce the pressure of world public opinion and direct attention to their crimes to convince the world that Biden is different from Trump.
Third; The defense and military achievements and the resistance of the Yemeni people, the continuation of the path of resistance in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine and modeled on the resistance of the Iranian people, has been determined, so the United States is concerned about the continuation of this path, trying to marginalize the resistance in Yemen. Pretend that because Biden came, the story is coming to an end, not that the resistance has paid off.
Fourth; It is possible that the United States wants to link its recent approach to Yemen to the JCPOA, selling it to Iran as a concession instead of lifting sanctions, and calling for an end to Iran's countermeasures. However, from the very beginning of the coalition's invasion of Yemen, Iran has emphasized that Yemen has no military solution and has presented a four-point plan to end the crisis, which has never been considered by the West and the United Nations.
On the other hand; Iran has always emphasized the right to self-determination of nations, including the Yemeni nation, and has never and will not compromise this right with other countries, and as for JCPOA, it is still waiting for the practical lifting of all sanctions.
In essence, the recent approach of the United States and its allies is not to resolve regional crises but to pave the way for new crises in the region, an approach that will, of course, be a repetition of Trump's failed experience and maximum pressure. .
The West must be held accountable for the countless crimes and destructions imposed on Yemen, and it cannot evade accountability simply by claiming a change of approach.
