NOURNEWS - Saad Hariri finally went to The Baabda Palace after a few weeks of consultations with various domestic political parties and of course regional and international sides on Friday with an 18-member list of proposed ministers to present his cabinet to Lebanese President Michel Aoun.
The list, of course, was not approved by the president because the sectarian and political composition was not taken into account, so that the political vacuum in the country would continue for several months, at least until the regional equations are determined by changes in the US administration.
A little attention indicates that Hariri knew the outcome in the current situation by presenting this incomplete list, but by this act, he practically put the consequences of the continuation of the political vacuum on the president and the political currents supporting him, Hezbollah and his allies.
Lebanese political circles believe that Saad Hariri's moves opened the door to interaction with the new US Democrat’s Administration, paid homage to France and Emmanuel Macron himself, and keyed the Saudis' new post-Trump policy toward the region.
Macron was the first president to visit Lebanon after the Beirut port explosion, and by presenting a plan to reform Lebanon's political structure, he set a one-week deadline for political groups to portray themselves as the savior of Lebanon. But Nothing happened for weeks.
More precisely, by presenting this incomplete list and without considering a tribal and partisan composition, Saad Hariri practically responded to the U.S. demand for Hezbollah's removal from the Lebanese government in accordance with the French scenario, and continued the political vacuum to continue foreign interference.
At the same time, Hariri's presentation of this incomplete list to the president by announcing the verdict of the International Court of Rafik Hariri and the conviction of Hezbollah member Salim Ayash for participating in the assassination and the Lebanese prosecutor's announcement of the Lebanese prosecutor's crime against Hassan Diab regarding the Beirut port explosion indicates a detailed plan to blast Lebanon’s political situation.
The point is that the continuation of Lebanon’s political vacuum, while with democrats in the White House and the forced change of some of their regional policies, the Saudi regime, which sees an important backing like Trump and Kushner as missing, has no choice but to change its regional policies, thus igniting internal intrigues on its agenda. The same policy adopted by Riyadh forced Hariri to present a flawed list to Michel Aoun with another favor to the Saudis, while ignoring political tendencies, and to bring the spark closer to the gunpowder depot of the fragile political situation in Lebanon. On the other hand, however; To make up for the defeat of the West-Arab current in the 2018 parliamentary elections, Hariri has only two years to win the votes of the people in the next elections, 2022, with a proper performance, so he is more aware of his disability than anyone, the best performance in a situation where None of the Arab-French financial promises to rebuild Lebanon's economy are seen as a continuation of the political vacuum and statelessness. Lebanon is struggling with the most difficult economic crisis in the current situation. The $100 billion foreign debt, the withdrawal of billions of dollars in foreign currency reserves from the country, the heavy cost of rebuilding Beirut’s strategic port as the beating heart of the country's economy, along with a massive banking embargo, are among the challenges facing Saad Hariri in stabilizing Lebanon’s economic situation .
In such circumstances, it seems that Saad Hariri will continue to withdraw from forming the cabinet, and given the possibility of political disputes re-igniting on the street, this process of political vacuum will face serious challenges for the parliament along the way.
The main motivation of the Western-Arab current, which has been trying to overthrow the parliament for months, is to deepen the political vacuum and hold early parliamentary elections to prevent the election of the next president by the current parliament.
