Lebanese journalist narrates the role of Saudi Arabia in the resignation of Mustafa Adib

"Saudi Arabia sent a threatening message to Saad Hariri through intermediaries, saying that if he helped Adib form a cabinet, he would be removed from power, because according to Riyadh, forming a government with the presence of Hezbollah is not allowed." said Nasser Qandil, a well-known journalist and editor of the Lebanese newspaper Al-Binaa.

NOURNEWS - Mustafa Adib announced his resignation from the cabinet to Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Saturday.
Different accounts of the resignation were published in the media, and the opposition tried to blame Hezbollah for failing to form a new cabinet.
Nasser Qandil, a well-known journalist and editor of the Lebanese newspaper Al-Binaa, has a different story, saying that Saudi Arabia sent a threatening message to Saad Hariri through intermediaries, saying that if he helped Adib form a cabinet, he would be removed from power, because according to Riyadh, forming a government with the presence of Hezbollah is not allowed.
He believes that King Salman bin Abdulaziz's speech at the United Nations was also a clear warning to Hariri, a writer and former Lebanese prime minister, that the formation of a government is prohibited under these conditions.
Qandil added: "There is information that Saudi Arabia has informed Saad Hariri through former prime ministers that Riyadh is ready to host the former prime minister, the Lebanese fatwa leader, and Baha'i Hariri (Saad's older brother) during a meeting in the presence of the king." Let the Saudis declare that he (Saad) is merely his representative, not the future and the Sunnis of Lebanon!
According to Qandil; In its message, Saudi Arabia said it was ready to give all its capabilities to Baha'i and declare him "boss." The threats came after Saad Hariri sought to facilitate the process of forming a new government with Adib as prime minister.
Nasser Qandil says; Riyadh's explicit threat against Saad Hariri was: "If he facilitates the formation of the government, Riyadh is ready to remove him [from the leadership of the Future]."
Recently, Saad and Baha'i supporters clashed in Lebanon, and the army was forced to intervene to disperse them.
Lebanon, which has faced a period of protests since October 2019, followed by Hariri's resignation, witnessed the resignation of Hassan Diab, and then the aftermath of the August 4 (August 14) bombing in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Mustafa Adib was the prime minister.
