NOURNEWS - Yesterday (Monday), the third phase of Operation Heroes of Iraq began, to clear and inspect some areas in Salah al-Din province and the border areas between the Diyala, Samarra and Kirkuk operations headquarters.
Maj. Gen. Abdul Amir al-Shammari, deputy commander of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, said in a statement: "The ground forces at the Salah al-Din Operations Command Headquarters, Operation Samarra and Diyala and the 9th Armored Division and the Special Forces Brigade on the first axis of the operation, the Federal police forces, the Special Forces Division Command, the Special Police Forces and the Federal Police Joint Operations Command in Kirkuk, are in the Second Axis of Operation and the Iraqi Al-Hashd Al-Shabi Organization, are participating with their brigades in Diyala, Samarra, Salah al-Din and Kirkuk."
The operation, which aims to investigate the area, prosecute elements of the ISIS terrorist group and arrest wanted individuals, identify ISIL shelters and eliminate war artifacts to strengthen security and stability in these areas, covers 4,853 square kilometers.
Ali al-Wa'ili, an expert on security issues, also told Al-Ma'alumah news agency about the time when terrorist groups in Iraq ended their activities: "The end of terrorist activity and their complete annihilation depends on the implementation of the Iraqi parliament's decision to expel US troops from Iraq, as US forces support elements of the ISIS terrorist group and supply their weapons, equipment and forces in various Iraqi provinces."
He added: "All areas in Iraq are under the control of Iraqi security forces, so ISIS cannot acquire weapons and equipment without US intervention."
He noted that the United States is working to prolong the strategic talks with Iraq so that it can provide support and assistance to these terrorists if the American side is unable to keep its forces in Iraq.
The ISIS terrorist group has recently invaded the provinces of Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, and Diyala, known as the Triangle of Death, and Anbar province has launched terrorist activities, including terrorist attacks, bombings, killings of civilians and targeting Iraqi security forces, which, according to evidence, were aimed at making excuses for the continued presence of the Americans.
The withdrawal of US troops from Iraq is one of the basic demands of the Iraqi people, authorities and political groups, which after being approved by parliament, the government was tasked with pursuing it, and the Baghdad-Washington strategic negotiations should be the end of that presence.
Note that; Relying on the purely Iraqi people and the Iraqi Armed Forces, Operation Iraqi Freedom demonstrates Iraq's full capacity to fight terrorism and the absence of the need for foreign forces, in particular, the strategy of popularizing the issue of security by forming a popular and capable al-Hashd al-Shabi force in the previous phase of the fight against ISIS ensured Iraq's success in defeating Takfiri terrorism.
