Shamkhani: The Signing of a Comprehensive Document on Cooperation Between Iran and Afghanistan Will Cause a Leap in Relations Between the Two Countries

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, referring to the more than forty years of comprehensive and unique support of Iran to the people of Afghanistan, especially the admission of more than three million immigrants and providing various facilities in the areas of services, welfare, health and education, as he emphasizes the continued cooperation of the Iranian government and people with their Afghan brothers and sisters.

NOURNEWS - Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Representative of the Supreme Leader and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, during a meeting with Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar, stressed the need to finalize and sign a comprehensive document on cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan as soon as possible; The signing of this strategic document, while making a fundamental leap forward in the relations between the two countries and activating all the exchangeable capacities, will lead to the strengthening of the historical relations between the two countries.

Expressing satisfaction with the agreement between Ghani and Abdullah and increasing stability in Afghanistan's political structure, Shamkhani expressed hope that in the light of this agreement, all-round growth and development in the country will increase and the suffering of the people will be resolved.

Admiral Shamkhani explains US convulsive and insecure policies in the region: "After the vicious US defeats in Syria and Iraq that followed the fall of ISIS, the enemies of the Muslim nations, with a new design, have targeted the good relations between Iran and Afghanistan in order to prevent the continuation of solidarity and friendship between the two nations."

Shamkhani lamented the death of a group of Afghan nationals who entered Iran illegally: "While Iran's law enforcement forces have played no role in shaping the situation, the heavy and undocumented news environment created by some Afghan officials and the media is surprising."

He added: "There is unequivocal evidence that the allegations against Iran can be substantiated by the will of the Afghan side, regardless of the non-constructive atmosphere."

During the meeting, Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Head of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, praised the Iran's continuous, effective and comprehensive support for the government and people of Afghanistan over the years and emphasized the will of the Afghan government and people to expand relations.

He called the continuation of warm and friendly relations between the two countries one of the main priorities of the Afghan government and added: "We will not allow any third party to damage the relations between the two countries."

He lamented some of the unacceptable actions of the ill-wishers of the two countries, which took advantage of the hurting of the pure feelings of the Afghan people in the events that led to the death of a group of Afghan citizens: "We emphasize resolving issues between the two countries through dialogue and tolerance, and condemn any misrepresentation or misconduct against Iran."

Atmar confirmed the remarks of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council about the importance and important role of the signing of the Comprehensive Document of Cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan and hoped that with double effort the document would be finalized within three months and signed by the Presidents.
