Ministry of Health: 2 shipments of antibody kits were exported to Germany and Turkey

The Director General of Medical Equipment of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education said: 2 shipments of serological kits (antibodies) have been exported to Turkey and Germany, but we have not exported PCR diagnostic kits according to the country's needs.

NOURNEWS- Hossein Safavi, director general of medical equipment at the Ministry of Health, told a news conference on Saturday about the export of the kit: "In the last two weeks, two shipments of The country was taken out and sent to Germany and Turkey. They were cleared through customs. We don't have exports for the PCR kit at the moment because we still need it in the country.

He said: "Many countries do not import their products in a centralized way and it is not like our country that each consignment is licensed by the Ministry of Health, but in many countries like the United States, goods may be imported and the government may not be informed." The export documents of this consignment are available in the Ministry of Health.

"We weren't producing kits for imported kits like early Corona," said the director general of the Food and Drug Administration. Initially, some of the kits were imported by the World Health Organization.

The fate of Chinese kits

He added: "Part of the need for kits was also imported from China or Europe after the quality of the kits was confirmed by the Pasteur Institute. The samples of the kits were carefully checked by the Pasteur Institute and after their approval, the import and clearance of imported kits Done. All imported kits are of good quality, although some shipments may have different conditions due to special storage conditions, which are controlled and used if they are not harmful to patients.

Safavi said: "We have not reported on the quality of the import of Chinese or imported kits." If there is a report, we will check it, but these kits may lose the standard temperature during transportation or storage and cannot be used if they have been given an import license. There is no doubt that they have the necessary quality, and licensed kits, both in terms of imports and domestic production, are given the necessary precision.

In response to another question about the volume of exports of Iranian kits, he added: "I do not have the presence of mind at this time, but the volume of exports has been two shipments. The domestic manufacturer of serological kits has asked the Ministry of Health to allow the export of 9,000 serological kits per day, which we have agreed to. Of course, they have to market, if their goods have customers, they are allowed to leave the country and export.

Bibi patients' dressings were provided

Regarding the import and supply of dressings for butterfly patients, Safavi said: "We have encountered problems with EB dressings due to sanctions and the lack of cooperation of the main Swedish supplier company." Of course, we supplied this product through several emergency companies. Part of it has been imported and cleared by UNICEF in recent weeks. An inventory for dressing is now desirable in the country and we are not worried. We are trying to meet the future needs for the coming months.

The mask is not safe on the subway

Asked if the three-layer masks were reliable for using the subway, the director general of medical equipment at the Ministry of Health said: "None of the protection items are 100 percent safe, so special care and social distance must be observed." Otherwise, masks and other protective items are not safe and cannot be trusted in the face of virus transmission.

Regarding the arrival of luxury masks worth 200,000 Tomans, he said: "Recently, we have not had such a report. Of course, early in the country, due to the lack of masks in the country, we had such cases and we also had 200,000 Tomans masks on the market." Most of the N95 masks had special long-lasting filters and, of course, were not licensed by the Ministry of Health. But we do not have such reports now.

Safavi added: "In the past, N95 masks were mostly used in the industrial sector, but now, due to the needs of the medical sector, the production of these masks is such that it is available in the market and the market has changed in favor of domestic producers with approved prices." Special importers of these goods lose at unconventional prices.

Air disinfectants are not approved

Safavi said: "There are some items or goods that were produced and supplied in the world after Corona. One of these goods was a UV device for sterilizing air and a mist sprayer for disinfecting surfaces and air, which has not been approved by any regulator." Their effectiveness may vary depending on the air circulation and they do not have a fixed effect and do not have special approval and 100% effectiveness. Wherever they use these devices, they use them at their own risk and no confirmation has been issued to them.

He added: "In the last few months, in the field of medical equipment production, especially corona-related equipment, because no specific drug has been discovered in the world for corona treatment and corona prevention and has not been proven to be effective, it is more effective in preventing outbreaks and prevention." It became more popular, and the use of respirators became more popular.

The director general of medical equipment said that the demand for these items has greatly increased in the world for masks and gloves, uniforms, kits, ventilators, and medical monitors. In our country, the existence of producers and knowledge-based companies have been working for years. In the last three months, we have been able to use the capacity of manufacturing companies and increase production.

He added: "In the case of ventilators before Corona, we had 10 production units a day. Now we have two manufacturers that can produce 40 ventilators a day and provide them to the Ministry of Health. They even have surplus production, which we allowed if more than 40 Manufacturer of devices per day to export to other countries and are allowed to export.

Production of 1.5 million diagnostic kits in Iran

Safavi said: "We did not have any producers for the diagnostic kit before Corona. Now, three knowledge-based companies have been approved." Their production is such that within the next month and a half, it is planned to provide the Ministry of Health and diagnostic centers with 1.5 million kits and provide them to the Ministry of Health. In the case of diagnostic items and extraction kits, we have also reached domestic production. In the case of serological kits, we now have a manufacturer that can export in addition to the domestic demand.

He added: "In the case of the manufacturer of diagnostic and serological kits, we have other requests for production, and the quality of these products is being checked, and if they are approved, they will enter the market or be exported."

"In the case of the N95 mask, insulated clothing, shield and other protective items, the action that was taken was to develop the production of three-layer masks," he said. The production volume was 500 to 600 thousand per day. With the help of the private and public sectors, we provided both imported and domestically produced masking machines. Now we deliver more than 2.5 million industrial masks to medical centers in daily production lines.

Safavi added: "Jihadi groups, industrial workshops can also produce masks with proper packaging and disinfection, and provide these items to medical centers and pharmacies."

Increase the production of masks in the country

He said that the production of three-layer masks in the country has also increased, quadrupled before Corona and reached 2.5 million masks per day. Before Corona, we didn't have the N95 mask for medical use. About 15,000 daily products were used in the industrial sector. After Corona, the private sector produced this mask, and now 150,000 N95 masks are produced daily, and it is used for medical centers, depots and exports. In the case of uniform production, the production capacity was less than 10,000, and today it has reached more than 100,000, which is more than the country needs.

The Director General of Medical Equipment of the Food and Drug Administration said: "We rely entirely on domestic products for protective items and diagnostic kits." If Corona's second courier is on the way, we will have the necessary depot, and despite the sanctions, the country's production is quite favorable and reliable.

He added: "We have ranked these companies in terms of the quality of domestically produced medical equipment." They are between one and four. These products have different types and with the help and capacity of the associations and related unions, these goods have different pricing based on the production rank and the raw materials they have used.

Safavi said: "The ranking of medical goods and their different pricing caused, for example, in the field of band and gas production, those who had lower quality, to try and increase the quality of their product."

There is no shortage of security items in offices

In response to a question about the lack of protective equipment in private offices and medical centers, he said: "Due to the increase in the production of any public and private medical center, there is no shortage of protective equipment now." Initially, these items were delivered directly to the consumer by the Ministry of Health. After this instruction, for example, 250 million gloves have been distributed between public and private medical centers, and there is no shortage of these items in medical centers.

Safavi added: "Protection items are distributed in two ways." In the case of state-run medical centers, these goods are centrally available, including masks, face shields, gloves, and clothing. After the smart distance plan, the need for these items was felt in offices and other places. In the case of offices, in coordination with the Medical System Organization, some of these products were given to the organization to manage according to their needs.

He said: "In the case of dental offices and physiotherapy centers, these items were distributed through the Medical System Organization." Three manufacturing companies provide these items as needed by offices and medical centers.

Slowness in the allocation of medical equipment currency

Regarding discrimination in the allocation of government currency to medical equipment companies, the director general of the Ministry of Health's medical equipment said: "Yes, we discriminate and give more priority to domestic producers." Of course, in recent months, due to restrictions on foreign exchange supply, the allocation of foreign exchange in the field of medical equipment has slowed down and the queue for foreign exchange has become longer, which we hope will be resolved with the cooperation of the Central Bank. We are working to resolve this issue.
