The Afghan Interior Ministry says gunmen have attacked a borderless hospital in the Dasht-e Barchi area west of Kabul.

NOURNEWS- "The attack took place at around 10 a.m. local time at the 13th police station, and a number of attackers attacked the medical center," said Marwa Security, a spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry.

There were reports of two explosions and gunfire. Security sources also confirmed the blast.

According to some accounts, a suicide bomber blew himself up and then opened fire. The conflict continues unabated.

Meanwhile, the Afghan Interior Ministry has confirmed that several armed assailants have infiltrated a medical center located in Kabul's 13th security district.

"Abdul Fahim Samadi, one of the doctors at the center's neonatal ward, said:" An hour had passed since he entered the medical center when the alarm went off and when we tried to go to the shelter, it was closed at the shelter and he had to go home with a number of colleagues. We ran away from the neighbor.

The doctor says he saw an armed assailant wearing an Afghan border police uniform and appeared to be 24 years old. According to him, the assailant was searching the rooms.

The eyewitness added that this morning, about 140 employees, including doctors, the administrative and security departments, were present at the medical center, and a number of sick mothers and children were also present at the medical center.

The Taliban have said they are not involved in the attack.
