NOURNEWS- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that cabinet talks on the annexation of the West Bank and the Jordan Valley to the occupied territories will begin in July (late July and early August).
Meanwhile, three European diplomats said France had asked the European Union to respond to the Zionist regime with a strong and decisive response if an illegal plan to annex the West Bank was put forward.
The European diplomats also called on Belgium, Ireland and Luxembourg to hold talks and talks on the possibility of imposing economic sanctions on the Zionist regime if the West Bank plan is advanced.
Earlier, EU spokesman Peter Stato said yesterday (Monday) that the European Union would take action if the Zionist regime continued to illegally annex the West Bank.
"Joining is in violation of international law, and if the accession plan goes ahead, the European Union will respond appropriately," he added.
The Zionist regime's plan to annex the West Bank and the Jordan Valley to the Occupied Territories has provoked a reaction not only from the Palestinians but also from the international community.
Earlier in the day, James Clouri, a State Department official, said he did not support the Zionist regime's attempt to annex parts of the West Bank.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres recently warned of an attempt by the Zionist regime to expand settlements in Palestine.
Guterres stressed that the settlements of the Zionist regime are illegal and that the annexation of some areas in the West Bank would lead to the destruction of the two-state solution.
The two-state solution is one that has been supported by the United Nations and many other countries since the Madrid Conference in 1991 and the Oslo Accords in 1993 and 1995 between the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Zionist regime.
EU governments should also ask the EU's foreign policy department to provide a list of options for dealing with the Zionist regime's move.
