NOURNEWS- As the latest UAV of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Meraj UAV is a product of design and construction at the Nizsa Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization's UAV Research Center.
This UAV was shown for the first time during the parade on September 22, 2017 in Tehran, and there has been no news about this UAV since then. After that, Colonel Akbar Karimloo announced the successful testing of this drone and the elimination of its minor defects.
Now, Meraj UAV, as the latest IRGC ground UAV, has come out of its tests and experiments proud and is ready to carry out reconnaissance missions.
The drone can fly at a speed of 140 km to an altitude of 12,000 feet. It weighs 33 kilograms and can carry a load of 5 kilograms.
The recoil of this drone is a type of landing on the belly of the drone, and for this reason, it uses a built-in elevator camera in the body, which causes no damage when landing.
The use of this type of launcher allows the Ascension UAV to not require a special runway for landing and takeoff, and to be able to fly on any road or highway that has a flat surface.
This issue, due to the operational needs of the IRGC's ground forces in the vast geography of our country, makes Ascension a tactical and suitable drone for the mission of identifying this force, especially for monitoring the borders and fighting terrorist groups.
