Sending American ships to the disputed waters of the South China Sea

The U.S. Navy has sent two patrol boats to the South China Sea, where China and Malaysia are at odds over ownership of a region where they are said to have valuable resources.

NOURNEWS- U.S. officials say the USS Montgomery and the USNS Cesar Chavez have been deployed to conduct a "face-to-face operation" in the South China Sea.

Meanwhile, the Chinese military has deployed warships in the region in recent weeks.

For the second time in a month, US Navy ships have been sent to the area to stop Chinese naval operations.

"We adhere to a system based on the rules of the South China Sea and continue to support freedom of the sea and the rule of law," John Aquilino, commander of the US Navy's Pacific Fleet, said in a statement warning Beijing. The Chinese Communist Party must end its bullying of the people of Southeast Asia.
