NOURNEWS- Iraqi parliamentarians vote of confidence in the cabinet of Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi.
According to the report, on Friday, Anad was appointed Minister of Defense, Osman Al-Ghanemi as Minister of Interior, Ali Abdul Amir Alavi as Minister of Finance, Khaled Batal as Minister of Planning, Nazleen Mohammad as Minister of Housing, Hassan Al-Tamimi as Minister of Health. Nabil Kazem as Minister of Higher Education, Majid Mahdi as Minister of Electricity, Nasser Hossein Bandar as Minister of Transport, Ali Adnan Darjal as Minister of Sports and Youth, Ali Manhal Aziz as Minister of Industry, Shahab Ahmad Arkan as Minister of Communications Ali Adel Hashush as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ali Mahdi Rashid as Minister of Water Resources and Ali Hamid Mokhlaf was elected Minister of Education.
However, the proposed ministers of justice, culture, agriculture, immigration and trade failed to win the confidence of the Iraqi parliament. Voting for the proposed ministers for the ministries of oil and foreign affairs has been postponed.
With that in mind, Mustafa al-Kazemi officially became the caretaker Prime Minister of Iraq. He and his cabinet members took the oath of office in parliament.
"Today, the esteemed parliament voted in favor of my government," al-Kazemi said in his first statement since the end of the Iraqi parliament's session and the vote of confidence in his cabinet. Together with the esteemed team of ministers, I will work hard to gain the trust and support of our nation. I thank all those who supported us and I hope that all political groups will unite to face the difficult challenges. "Our policy is to govern Iraq, to ensure its security, stability and prosperity."
After approving al-Kazemi's cabinet, Iraqi President Barham Saleh sent a message congratulating him on his success, emphasizing: "We have gone through a difficult period in the history of Iraq."
"We are here to form a strong government," the speaker of the Iraqi parliament said at the beginning of a meeting of lawmakers to vote of confidence in al-Kazemi's cabinet.
He added: "Our effort is to form a government that is able to overcome the current challenges in Iraq.
In a speech to the Iraqi parliament, Mustafa al-Kazemi emphasized: "My government is a government that resolves disputes, not a government that creates problems."
Al-Kazemi said: "One of the missions of my government is to limit the weapons in the hands of the government, to hold early elections and to prevent Iraq from becoming an arena for the aggression of others." We will not allow Iraqi territory to be a base for attacks. Taking appropriate measures to deal with the outbreak of corona is another priority of the future Iraqi government.
He stressed: "I guarantee the freedom of expression and the support of peaceful demonstrations, and I will work to resolve all the economic, social and security problems that the people are facing."
Al-Kazemi also said about his plans for the Kurdistan Region: "My plan is to try to strengthen relations with the Kurdistan Region and cooperate with it in accordance with the constitution."
