3,000 Taliban terrorist attacks in the past two months

A spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry said that the Taliban had carried out 3,000 terrorist attacks since March 30, 2019, including suicide bombings, roadside bombings and assassinations in Afghanistan, killing 387 civilians and injuring 590 others.

NOURNEWS- A spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry told a news conference this morning that nearly 2,000 civilians, including women and children, had been killed or injured in the attacks over the past two months.

"During this period, the Taliban have abducted more than 200 civilians in different parts of Afghanistan, and the deployment of 200 roadside mines by this group has caused the most casualties," Tariq Arian added.

Contrary to all Islamic and humanitarian principles and respect for the month of Ramadan, the Taliban have also increased their terrorist attacks and landmines in some Afghan provinces.

He added: "In contrast, the Afghan security and defense forces have also defended the citizens within the framework of" active defense ", as a result of which more than 1,400 Taliban members have been killed in the past two months."

A spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry said government forces had also suffered casualties during the period, but that the number was much lower than that of the Taliban. Two of their Afghan accomplices were reported by security forces.

Zalmai Khalilzad, the US special envoy for peace in Afghanistan, recently warned of an increase in Taliban attacks and a backlash from government forces, saying the two sides' actions would seriously damage the peace process.
