NOURNEWS- International Group: "China is concerned about the recent plan to annex parts of the territory," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jang Shuang said in response to a question about the country's position on Zionist officials' claims that the West Bank would join the occupied Palestinian territories. The occupation of Palestine on the West Bank is a violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2234.
"China hopes that the parties will refrain from taking action that escalates tensions between Palestine and Israel," he said.
According to a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, the international community must play a constructive role in strengthening the political process and working to implement a two-state solution and work to resume political talks between Palestine and Israel.
Earlier, the European Union, Britain and the United Nations warned of Netanyahu-Gantz's plan to annex the occupied West Bank to other regions. The plan was one of the two to agree on forming a coalition cabinet.
It is said that the Zionist regime intends to annex parts of the West Bank, which it occupied during the 1967 war, from July this year.
The United States has backed the Zionists' move, with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo saying Tel Aviv is responsible for deciding to join the West Bank. The US Secretary of State also said that the United States will work closely with the Zionist regime and will convey its views to them privately.
