In an interview with Anatolia News Agency on Saturday, Hamid al-Musawi added that the new prime minister has 48 hours to change the candidates for his proposed cabinet.
The member of the Fatah coalition (48 of the 329 seats in parliament) said: "Shiite political forces have left the selection of ministers to Al-Kazemi, but have set criteria for their election."
Al-Musawi added that ministers should be among the experts, not individuals imposed by political forces.
He said: "Unfortunately, Al-Kazemi complied with the pressure of the Kurdish and Sunni political factions to select their proposed candidates for the ministries."
The Iraqi parliamentarian warned that the ministers who have been nominated so far will not receive a vote of confidence in the parliament.
He noted that one of the problems of the proposed cabinet is that the average life expectancy of ministers is between 65 and 70 years, and this is contrary to the approach of supporting the young cabinet.
However, the Iraqi parliamentarian said that he was eager for Al-Kazemi's success, but that he should introduce a specialized cabinet and refrain from obeying the dictates of political groups.
Iraqi President Barham Saleh (April 9, 2020) ordered the formation of a new government following the protests of the Iraqi political currents and the withdrawal of Adnan al-Zarfi from office.
Some sources reported that a parliamentary session will be held next Tuesday to vote of confidence in Al-Kazemi's proposed cabinet.
