Nournews: President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday morning, September 21, attended a school in Tehran and rang the bell marking the start of the new 1405–1406 academic year. Congratulating students on the beginning of the new school year, the president stressed the importance of believing in one’s abilities and working hard to achieve one’s goals.
Referring to his own life journey, Pezeshkian said: “You know, I am standing here today as president, but I came from an ordinary family and a family of employees to reach this position.” He added: “If you set your mind on becoming the best, you can become the best.”
Pezeshkian: You can achieve whatever you believe in
Addressing the students, the president said: “You can achieve whatever you have in your mind and believe in.” Pezeshkian also said that the government and teachers would work to ensure that students receive a proper education and have the opportunity to grow and progress.
Referring to the human capacity to achieve different goals, he said: “The only position human beings cannot attain is that of God; otherwise, they can reach wherever they want.”
Pezeshkian went on to stress the importance of education and hard work in helping students reach their desired positions.
“We trust you, students, and we will do everything we can to help you bring out the gold within you. You are more valuable than gold,” he said.
The president added that people can acquire knowledge and skills and use them to solve the problems of individuals, families, neighborhoods, cities, the country and even the world.
“We can, and you can. We trust you and care about you, and we will do everything we can to help you bring out the gold within you. You are more valuable than gold,” he said.
“I want to help all the people of my country. I want to be friends with everyone. I want to help my people and my country in any way I can. You can join hands with us and build Iran,” Pezeshkian added.
He continued: “I can become the best or the worst. You can become the best or the worst. The choice is yours, but it takes hard work. Nobody gets anywhere without effort. You have to work hard and make an effort to get somewhere. You have to study, learn and solve problems.”
The president said this year’s Mehr 1 slogan would focus on encouraging students to solve problems.
“Each of you should think about what problem you can solve. Think and solve problems. You can solve problems on your own, and you can also solve them through unity. But when you unite, you can do a better job. I hope you succeed,” he said.
Kazemi: 16.5m students begin the new academic year
Education Minister Alireza Kazemi, speaking at the start of the new academic year, described schools as the foundation of national power, progress and strength. He stressed the need to improve the quality of education, empower teachers, develop educational infrastructure, and strengthen students’ national and religious identity.
Speaking at the annual festival marking the start of school for first-graders at the Fatemeh Zahra Girls’ School in Tehran’s District 11, Kazemi said 16.5 million students would begin the new academic year. He described them as Iran’s human capital and the people who will shape the country’s future.
Paying tribute to teachers and students who have been killed in the line of duty, including 295 student martyrs and 68 teacher martyrs, Kazemi stressed the need to continue the country’s development through education and empowering students.
He also thanked the president for his attention to the education system, saying that Pezeshkian had personally held more than 60 meetings focused on education.
The education minister announced that 4,700 schools had been built and 24,000 classrooms added over the past two years. He also identified improving educational quality and familiarizing teachers with modern teaching methods as other priorities for his ministry.
In conclusion, Kazemi stressed that Iran’s future lies in the hands of its students and that schools, teachers and students are among the country’s most valuable assets.
