Speaking at a ceremony marking the start of the new school year at Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra School in Tehran’s District 11 on Monday, the president said he had risen to the presidency from an ordinary employee family.
He urged students to strive for excellence, saying they should build a future in which no foreigner would dare view Iranians as weak. He also stressed friendship, cooperation and support, warning that conflict among students could undermine their efforts.
Pezeshkian emphasized proper education, saying the government would seek to provide an environment based on friendship, participation and effort.
He encouraged students to help their families, friends and teachers and use what they learn to solve problems around them.
Learning without skills is not effective, he said, urging them to develop abilities and apply their knowledge to help others.
The president said solving people’s problems and contributing to national development were goals, and called on students to work together, study well and develop problem-solving skills.
