According to a report by the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO) on Saturday, Mohammad Ali Amirfakhrian stressed the need for expanded relations during a joint meeting with Tajikistan's First Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
Stating that the session examined the capacities and needs of Tajikistan's agricultural sector alongside the capabilities of Iranian companies, he said the emphasis was placed on shifting from mere trade cooperation toward joint production, technology transfer, and implementing investment projects.
The Iranian diplomat, pointing to Tajikistan's growing needs for machinery for the development of mechanized agriculture, livestock, and poultry, greenhouses, and agro-processing industries, said that Iranian companies possess substantial capacity to supply that equipment and transfer technical know-how within these sectors.
The high capacity of the Central Asian nation in cotton production and primary processing—such as spinning, weaving, and garment manufacturing—offers a prime opportunity for the presence of Iranian investors and companies, he added.
Amirfakhrian also emphasized the importance of holding bilateral trade meetings and exchanging specialized trade delegations, saying such steps help foster direct links between the two countries' public and private sectors.
