Nournews: President Masoud Pezeshkian attended the major popular exercise of 313,000 “Jan-Fadayian Iran” participants in Tehran today, Friday, September 18.
Speaking on the sidelines of the exercise, Pezeshkian said: “We are ready to sacrifice our lives for the people, our country and Iran, and we are working with all our strength for the country.” Asked about the impact of the display of the Jan-Fadayian movement’s strength on undermining the enemy’s morale, the president said: “Unity and solidarity on all fronts will disappoint the enemy.”
The exercise began at 8 a.m. today, Friday, in Tehran on the orders of Brigadier General Hassan Hassanzadeh, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Muhammad Rasulullah Corps, under the code phrase “Labbaik Ya Khamenei” (“Here we are, O Khamenei”).
Jan-Fadayians: A Nightmare for the Enemy
The major 313,000-member “Jan-Fadayian Iran” exercise began in Tehran at 8 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, with people gathering in the streets hours before the event began.
At the exercise, The head of the Basij Organization, Taeb, described the Jan-Fadayians as a nightmare for the enemies of Iran, emphasizing that the Jan-Fada movement represents the republican character of Iran and the people’s resilience in the face of threats to the country’s borders and territory.
He said the Jan-Fada movement symbolizes the popularization of defense and security, an expression of national power, the country’s preparedness to fight and defend itself against any threat, as well as its readiness to build the country and reach the heights of civilizational progress.
Taeb said at the major 313,000-member “Jan-Fadayian Iran” exercise: “If a nation stands firm with faith, God will open the path toward guidance and the conquest of the peaks.” He described Jan-Fada as an embodiment of the Quranic concept that when people strive and persevere, God grants them victory, adding that the 313,000-member gathering of the Muhammad Rasulullah Corps was being held today.
He added: “The Jan-Fada campaign is the largest popular mobilization in the history of the world’s wars. Nowhere in the past have we seen a nation declare its presence in this way and enthusiastically and earnestly announce in the country’s various arenas that it is ready for whatever front the country may need.”
According to Taeb, the people’s resistance serves as a compass for the decisions and actions of the country’s officials and as a factor behind the enemy’s fear and the nation’s victory. He said that when the enemy sees that tens of millions of people in Iran are prepared to sacrifice themselves, “fear takes hold of it, and it accepts defeat both in perception and in reality.”
Taeb stressed that the Jan-Fadayians are now “a nightmare for the enemies of this land” and represent national resistance battalions and the country’s progress. He said the Jan-Fada movement symbolizes the republican character of Iran and the people’s resilience against threats to the country’s borders and territory. He also described it as a symbol of the popularization of defense and security, an expression of national power, and the country’s preparedness for defense against any threat and for national development and civilizational advancement.
The head of the Basij Organization said that the people’s awareness, sense of honor and vigilance had created phenomena such as Jan-Fada. “No one came from an institution to create Jan-Fada,” he said. “It was the people who came forward, demonstrated their capabilities and declared through this campaign that they were ready to sacrifice their lives and possessions for this land and their faith.”
He added that hundreds of thousands of people were participating in the campaign in Greater Tehran, with the process of incorporating Jan-Fadayians into defense battalions and units underway, along with basic training, organization, advanced training courses in various ground, air and naval fields, and preparations for comprehensive defense.
Female Jan-Fedayians
Women’s Basij battalions also took part in the 313,000-member Jan-Fadayian Iran exercise.
The participation of female Basij battalions in the exercise at Imam Hussein Square was among the notable scenes of the event.
Jan-Fada units also made a prominent appearance at the exercise while chanting “All these armies have come, out of love for the Leader.”
