Nournews: Randhir Jaiswal made the remarks on Monday following the meeting between Narendra Modi and Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the sidelines of the SCO summit.
In a post on X, Jaiswal said the two sides discussed various aspects of bilateral relations and exchanged views on recent developments in West Asia.
The Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson also noted that Modi once again reaffirmed New Delhi’s consistent position that all issues should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
The Indian diplomat further stressed that Modi emphasized the need to continue efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region and safeguard freedom of navigation and trade.
According to IRNA, Pezeshkian met with Modi on Monday morning during the first leg of his trip to Kyrgyzstan, where he is scheduled to attend and address the SCO summit of heads of state as well as the Shanghai Plus meeting.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest state of bilateral relations and stressed the need to strengthen and expand cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and India in areas of mutual interest.
